Jean France
Historic Preservation Scholarship
Each year, Historic Pittsford is pleased to offer a $500 scholarship award to encourage and support students who demonstrate an interest in a career related to historic preservation.
Jean France
This scholarship honors Jean France, a Pittsford resident, architectural historian and preservation advocate who worked tirelessly for the preservation of Pittsford’s historic architectural and cultural resources. She was a founding member of Historic Pittsford.
We are pleased to recognize Caroline Johnson as the 2024 recipient of the Jean France Historic Preservation Scholarship. Caroline is a student at Nazareth University majoring in Museums, Archives, and Public History. In addition to her relevant studies, Caroline completed an internship at the NY State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation where she gained hands-on experience and insight into the field of historic preservation.
Just as Jean France was an ardent preservation advocate, Caroline, too, has a passion for preserving our cultural heritage. She plans to follow in her mother’s footsteps and pursue a career in historic preservation.
The Jean France Historic Preservation Scholarship award will be presented at Historic Pittsford’s Annual Meeting on July 21, 2024.
Information and an application form for the 2025 Jean France Historic Preservation Scholarship will be available here in March 2025.
