Set in Stone: The History of Cobblestone Masonry

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 | 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Spiegel Pittsford Community Center, Room 107

Have you seen the cobblestone building at 27 Church Street in the Village of Pittsford and imagined how this structure was used, or wondered who constructed it and how it was built? Here's your chance to learn about it!

Historic Pittsford welcomes Douglas Farley, Director of The Cobblestone Society, as he shares

his presentation, "Set in Stone: The History of Cobblestone Masonry," the fascinating story of how early Western New York pioneers used Ice Age cast offs to create a regional architectural trend that is still seen today. Free and open to the public.

The Cobblestone Society interprets three National Historic Landmark cobblestone buildings and several other National Register historic structures on their large campus in Albion, New York.
